Privacy policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

This policy explains what personal data FluxAirports collects when you use this website, why, and what rights you have. We collect as little as possible — you don't need an account to use the passenger site.

Who is responsible

FluxAirports is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, write to hello@fluxairports.com.

What we collect and why

  • Flight searches — the flight number, airport or route you look up, to show you the result. They are not linked to your name.
  • IP address — used, without being stored, to pick the site's language from your country, and recorded in our server logs for security and troubleshooting.
  • Addresses in the route-weather check — the start and end points you type are sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim and the OSRM routing service to find the route. We do not store them.
  • Feedback — if you rate a forecast or report turbulence, we store your answer, the flight and a random ID created in your browser so each answer is counted once. It does not identify you.
  • Business accounts — the email address you sign in with, to provide the business dashboard.
  • Analytics, only with your consent — Google Analytics records pages visited, device and browser type and approximate location, so we can improve the site. Advertising features are switched off.

Cookies and local storage

Necessary cookies are always on. Analytics cookies are set only if you choose “Accept analytics”.

  • fa_lang — remembers your language (necessary, 1 year).
  • fa_consent — remembers your cookie choice (necessary, 6 months).
  • _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics (only with consent, 13 months).
  • Local storage on your device — saved offline flight maps, the random feedback ID, unsent feedback and dismissed pop-ups. It stays on your device and you can clear it in your browser settings.

Third-party services

  • OpenStreetMap — map images are loaded from OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your IP address.
  • Google Analytics — provided by Google Ireland Limited. Data may be transferred to the USA under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
  • Open-Meteo — supplies weather data. It receives only coordinates from our server, never data about you.
  • Booking.com — the taxi and hotel buttons are plain links; Booking.com's own privacy policy applies once you open them.

Legal basis

  • Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for analytics cookies.
  • Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in running a secure, working site: language selection, server logs, route checks and anonymous feedback.
  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for business accounts.

How long we keep data

  • Server logs: a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
  • Feedback: kept to measure and improve forecast accuracy; it contains no name or contact details.
  • Analytics data: at most 14 months.
  • Business accounts: until the account is deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You can withdraw your consent at any time with “Cookie settings” below; this does not affect processing done before. To exercise any right, write to hello@fluxairports.com.

You can also complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live — in Albania, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDP).

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
